This program aims to preserve and strengthen the English skills of children who have lived overseas and experienced education in an English immersion environment. All course levels focus on the four skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking using an inquiry-based approach, while emphasizing the 21st-century skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
Students visit the FIS library once a week to borrow books from a collection of over 11,000 volumes. Evaluations are conducted throughout the year to guide and inform individual student learning. Students enjoy class events throughout the year. This provides an excellent opportunity for students to expand and deepen their English proficiency and worldview.
このプログラムは、海外で生活し、英語イマージョン教育を受けた生徒たちの英語力を維持し、強化することを目的としています。すべてのコースレベルでは、探究型アプローチを用いて、リーディング、ライティング、リスニング、スピーキングの4つのスキルに重点を置いています。同時に 21世紀型スキルに必要な「コミュニケーション」「コラボレーション」「批判的思考」「創造性」の要素全てをレッスンで実践していきます。
生徒たちは毎週1回、FISの図書館を訪れ、11,000冊以上の書籍の中から本を借ります。評価は年間を通じて行われ、個々の学習をサポートし、方向性を示すために活用されます。また、生徒たちは年間を通じてさまざまなクラスイベントを楽しみます。このプログラムは、生徒たちが英語力と世界観を広げ、深めるための優れた機会を提供します。

Age: Kindergarten to Elementary
Lesson Days & Time(s): Tuesday & Thursday / Wednesday & Friday 17:00-18:30 (90 min) / 18:10-19:40 (90 min)
Class Size: up to 10 students
Lesson Content:
Students practice 4 skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking
Focus on 21st Century Skills: communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity.

＜Reading & Writing Class＞
The class will focus on reading and writing skills. We will hone those writing skills and develop different writing styles into a portfolio of each student’s work. We will also be reading from a wider variety of sources and styles, and discussing those related issues.

＜Speaking & Listening Class＞
The class will focus more on public speaking and presenting, building students' confidence, and working on larger presentations we hope to share with the FICS community.
生徒が人前で話す力やプレゼンテーションができる力を養っていきます。自信を深め、より大規模なプレゼンテーションができるように取り組みます。
