This program aims to preserve and strengthen the English skills of a child who has lived overseas and experienced education in an English immersion environment. All course levels practice the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking using an inquiry based approach while focusing on the 21st Century Skills of 「critical thinking」」「collaboration」「communication」and 「creativity」.  Students go to the FIS library once a week to borrow a book from a collection of over 11,000 books.  Evaluations are conducted throughout the year to help inform and direct individual student learning.  At the end of each term students enjoy a class party along with other seasonal events throughout the year.

Students in the Returnees program will also be able to borrow books from the Fukuoka International School’s library of thousand of books in English. Students can take advantage of this tremendous opportunity to expand and deepen their English ability and worldview.

福岡インターナショナルスクールの図書室を利用し、11,000冊以上ある本より貸し出しをしています。この機会を利用していただき、読書の楽しさと共に英語力、世界観を広げ深めていただくことを目的としています。

◆クラス概要：

1, Returnee Starter/Returnees 毎週2回（年間78回）

Age：Kinder to Elementary 

 Lesson Days & Time : Tuesday & Thursday / Wednesday & Friday 

   Starter : 17:00-18:00 (60min lessons) Returnees: 17:00-18:30 / 18:10-19:40 (90min lessons)

 Class Size : up to 10 students

  • Students practice 4 skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking

  • Focus on 21st Century Skills: critical thinking, collaboration, communication and creativity

  • Students go to the FIS library once a week to borrow a book to take home

  • 「読む、書く、聞く、話す」の４つの技能を身につけていきます

  • 21世紀型スキル「論理的思考」「チームワーク力」「コミュニケーション能力」「創造力」を中心としたレッスン

  • 週1回、FIS図書室の本貸し出しができます（11,000冊以上）

2. Returnee-Advanced 毎週1回（年間39回）/ コース選択制（両コース受講可）   

Age：Elementary (5 & 6 grader) & Junior High School & High School 

 Lesson Days & Time : Monday - Friday / 19:20-20:50 (90 min lessons)

 Class Size : up to 10 students

  •  Reading & Writing Class

    The class will focus on reading and writing skills. We will hone those writing skills and develop different writing styles into a portfolio of each student’s work. We will also be reading from a wider variety of sources and styles, and discussing those related issues. 

    リーディングとライティングに焦点を置きます。 ライティング力を磨き、様々な教材を活用し、 各生徒それぞれオリジナル資料（ポートフォリオ）を作成していきます。また様々なバラエティー豊富なトピックの資料を読み深め、それに関連する問題についても話し合い発展していきます。

  • Speaking & Listening Class

    The class will focus more on public speaking and presenting, building students' confidence, and working on larger presentations we hope to share with the FICS community. 

    スピーキングとリスニングに焦点を置きます。スピーチ、プレゼンテーションができる力を養っていきます。これらの経験を活かし、自信を深め、より多角的に発展したプレゼンテーションができるように取り組みます。
